Jim joins us from the field of education where he works as a fulltime school counselor. Jim says he is inspired to “pay forward” the patient listening and wise counsel he has received over the years from so many good teachers and mentors, therapists and advisors, family and friends, parents and students.
Jim’s foundational professional influences include Dr. William Glasser, MD and St. Ignatius of Loyola. Glasser’s Choice Theory/Reality Therapy emphasizes and leverages our inner freedom to make meaningful choices, even in the midst of confusing and difficult conflicts, while Ignatius’s spiritual exercises help open up pathways for deeper prayer and discernment of God’s will. The combination of the two, says Jim, provide powerful tools for those seeking to live more effectively with those with whom they want and need to get along.
Jim says that his relationship with his family is the most important relationship in his life and the one he works hardest on maintaining.
